In the Press

Curling on Florida ice is unusual enough to turn heads, and over the years our club has welcomed national and local media onto the sheets to see the roaring game for themselves. Here are a few of the features we are proudest of.

  • NPR & WBUR - Only A Game

Featured on the national sports radio program Only A Game

Our club was featured on Only A Game, the national sports show carried by NPR and Boston's WBUR. In the on-air interview, the conversation captured what drives a curling club in Florida - and the belief that our members were already, in the host's words, "good enough to dream" of curling at the very highest level.

  • The New York Times Magazine

Profiled in a New York Times Magazine feature on curling

A reporter for The New York Times Magazine spent time with the club for a feature about the sport of curling and how it has taken root in unexpected places. We were honored to host the visit and to see our little Gulf Coast club appear both online and in the Sunday print edition.

  • WTSP - 10 News (Tampa)

Visited by 10 News for a hands-on curling segment

A reporter from WTSP 10 News came out to learn about the sport and our club, threw a few rocks down the ice, and discovered first-hand that curling is harder - and more fun - than it looks on television. The segment aired on Tampa's 10 News.

  • WFLA - News Channel 8 (Tampa)

News Channel 8 stops by for a Curling 101 lesson

A crew from WFLA News Channel 8 visited the club for a condensed Curling 101 lesson, then stepped on the ice to release a few stones of their own. They had a great time and got a feel for why our members love the sport so much. The story aired on the station's weekend sports show.
